Hello, I’m Matt- the original “Spring Sleuth,” and primary water geek behind SpringWaterTest! I initiated this project after realizing that most spring users lacked convincing data regarding the safety of their water. I’ve had fun putting this site together for you, the Spring Enthusiast.
I hold a Master’s degree in Hydrology from the University of Nevada- Reno, where my research in trace contaminant detection led me to lecture at the 2017 “International Conference for Mercury as a Global Pollutant” (ICMGP), and publish 2 peer-reviewed papers addressing mercury uptake by trees. Currently, I work as an analytical chemist (specializing in pollutant monitoring) based in Milwaukee, WI.
I have a passion for science and public service, and am excited to aid a sector of water users that have been left behind in terms of safety monitoring and policy. When not at my “day job” or fulfilling SWT “sleuthing” duties, I can be found paddling and fishing the lakes of our beautiful state.
This website will continue to evolve, and grow because of inquiring people like you.
Thank you all!
